Domain name was stolen last year, suit alleges.
CostaRica.com, Inc. has filed a lawsuit alleging that the domain name CostaRica.com is stolen.
The company filed the in rem action in U.S. District Court in Virginia, where Verisign is located.
According to the suit, the domain name was stolen from the plaintiff’s Melbourne IT account in the middle of 2015 and transferred to a new owner at Name.com. The alleged thief did not change the name servers, so the plaintiff did not become aware of the theft until just recently.
As of right now, the Whois record for the domain name shows someone in Egypt.
