GoDaddy releases Q3 earnings, posts 15% top line growth

Company swings to a GAAP profit as top line continues to grow at healthy clip.
GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY) reported earnings after the bell today.
Total revenue was $472.1 million, up 14.8% year over year.
Domains revenue was $236.6 million, up 10% year over year and 3% quarter-over-quarter. Hosting and Business Applications revenue continued to grow at a faster clip than domains revenue, albeit from a smaller base. Hosting revenue was up 15.5% year over year to $174.1 million, and Business Applications shot up 35.5% to $61.4 million.
The company also swung to a profit on a GAAP basis for the quarter, compared to a small loss in Q3 2015.
In another milestone for the web presence company, it registered its 1 millionth .uk domain name. About a quarter of all .uk domain names are registered through GoDaddy.
